| I hope danny had a fun birthday and i hope he ate lots of yummy cake. We had a total michigan-like cousin moment on saturday night. We finally got a chance to experience the football event, as you all get to do every week. ( although i don't think we can match the intensity level). It was a cold and rainy night and schaefer, my nephew was playing varsity footaball for marantha high school against poly high school ( a school he used to go to and bing's school)under the light no less and on astroturf! We were all bundled up with sprinkles falling on our faces. It was alot of fun wish we had more night games to go to. I guess i'll have to be patient and wait till bings in high school. Needless to say he is ready, he spent the night outside the end zone in his own 11-12 year old pick up game. Soaking wet and having the time of his life. I'm not sure who he ended up cheering for- maybe himself! | | |
| I was all motivated to say something....... but now i'm too tired. I stay up late with good intention to accomplish alot and i think my age catches up with me and all i can do is keep my eyes open. But i'm unable to be productive. If only i could read but that does make my eyes close. Not out of interest but probably out of the necessity of reading glasses. Alas. | | |
| Well finally it feels like summer is over. Mainly because that dreadful heatwave is gone. That was the worst ever, 105's for 5 days and 80's at night. Sport practices were cancelled and just alot of lying around. Even the pools were warm, oh and the flies, yeck! Enough complaining, i gave god a big thank you for a glorious breezy day yesterday We are now well into the groove of back to school, with crazy weekend games, meets, practices and weeks filled with open house, committee meetings etc. Seeing all the parents is still alittle overwhelming, why does everyone get so fired up? i guess i better get back to organizing my desk and make sure everything is on the calender. | | |
| That's what it's been like here the whole week in the 100's. Yesterday it was 106. Even going to a pool is too hot, i found relief for 2 hours in a book store sitting on the floor. Bert took the dogs to work because they are cooler and safer also away from all the flies. By the afternoon -evening the house is unbearable. Needless to say by that time i too become unbearable ( i won't actually use the word that descibes me). I'm so glad that dave and cerissa are in michigan away from this. Thanks for commenting on my entry, keeps me motivated. Hopefully and eventually i'll become more deep and prolific. And computer savy. | | |
| Although the weather is not cooperating with the end of summer, when 3 out of 4 kids are back in school with homework, practices, lunches ( which i forgot today!) and unfortunately early rise time, i have to say it's official over. This is always a funny time of the year because i always have mixed emotions about the start of school. I'm excited to have the kids out of the house, restoring order and structure, and getting back to my stuff i need to deal with. But on the other hand i miss the casualness of just hanging out, watching shows with them, staying up late, and not worried about a dinner "time". You'd think after all this time i'd have it figured out. On that note i better go figure out dinner. | | |
